Vaguely, I usually begin picking out bits of the parts that sound nice, and ignoring parts that sound crap, then play around with those until a loop gets going, then keep messing around + arranging stuff until you get a track that doesn't sound like just a bunch of loops end-to-end.

The reason i asked is because, I remember seeing a drop-down list for midi controllers in Live. Live 4's list includes the UC 33 Evolution which I have used for some years. But of course the newest controllers won't show on the list of an old version of Live.

Korg Nano Controller and OLD version of Live

Hi guys

this is an unusual question, hope someone can advise if they know the answer:

I use Live 4 because it works very well on an EEEC PC laptop (nice little machine but very low in processor power)

Am thinking of getting a Korg Nano Controller link here , but I am not sure it will work on ...

Using an old version of Live + 2 GB RAM, I'm running:
6 audio channels of full tracks
4 audio channels of loops
1 audio line - in (hardware lazer box)
6 send channels
ableton EQ on every track
1 dub delay VST (cpu friendly)
1 hard limiter on the master out.

For the short term, I've bought an M Audio transit, really cheap and includes a line in.
I know there's ben reported problems with this card by other people, but I installed the latest drivers and it sounds fine.

Thanks guys... here's a rather late reply :D

Finally got round to purchasing the EEE PC, by now it's an EEE 901 with 2GB RAM and 1.6GHz Intel Atom Procesor

6 hours on the new machine and here's the current issues:

1. disk space insufficient.
my usual set is 10Gb in size, but available free space ...

small USB sound card for gigs

Hi all

I'm planning to get one of those little Asus EEE PCs this summer, specifically for doing gigs.

Can anybody recommend a decent, small usb soundcard for it?
Something that will run Asio drivers.
Physically, it just needs is a line-out to the club mixer, nothing fancy.

Ive found the last couple of times i've played out, ive found that my UC33 disconnects itself from the apple - i have to unplug the usb cable - plug it back in then go to preferences and set it up again for input/output.

ive no idea why this would be happeing !!
