Korg Nano Controller and OLD version of Live

Post by stormfield » Sun Dec 14, 2008 6:27 pm

Hi guys

this is an unusual question, hope someone can advise if they know the answer:

I use Live 4 because it works very well on an EEEC PC laptop (nice little machine but very low in processor power)

Am thinking of getting a Korg Nano Controller link here, but I am not sure it will work on older versions of Live.

Has anybody else faced a similar situation?

Live should hardly be the problem.

It's a USB midi device isn't it? If there are Windows drivers for it (or even if it's driver less) - you will be good to go.

thanks for the answer

The reason i asked is because, I remember seeing a drop-down list for midi controllers in Live. Live 4's list includes the UC 33 Evolution which I have used for some years. But of course the newest controllers won't show on the list of an old version of Live.

But if like you said, it works, then cool... i will buy the korg tomorrow :)

The drop down menu you're refering to is about Live's instant mapping - and you're right, the Nano won't be featured there. But I don't think Live 4 had instant mapping anyway.
