Re: Sample Rate
The reconstruction of the signal would be based upon the algorithm used to calculate the interpolated points outside of the sampled points, would it not? And while we may be able to accurately calculate the interpolated points there still exists a possibility of small variation. Which would lead to...

Re: Sample Rate
And your answer is very "compressed" so it's hard to understand if we mean the same with "perfect" reconstructed (it's clear that the lpf and the analog parts in the converter have an impact and can't be perfect). With perfect reconstructed I mean only the digital part. I guess ...

Re: Sample Rate
Well, in theory, every signal which does not contain frequencies above half of the sampling frequency can be perfectly reconstructed from its samples (Shannon-Whittaker sampling theorem). In practice, you cannot reconstruct a sampled signal perfectly. How well depends on the quality of your equipmen...

Re: Live 8.2 Discussion
Hey Alex,
as long as you do not use any of the new features, i.e. Amp and Cabinet (or any of the new racks which use them internally), you can open sets saved with 8.2 also with 8.1.5. (and 8.1.4 and 8.1.3 as well).
Best,
Tobias

Re: 8.1.4 Crashing a lot
Hi Jamie, when Live crashes and you restart it, a bug reporting lesson opens. This lesson contains a link to the bug reporting alp. Just click on the name "Ableton Bug Report <date> <time> <Live version>.alp". This will open an explorer window with the file. In case the lesson does not ope...

Re: 8.1.4 Crashing a lot
Hi all, Live can crash for various reasons. It can be a bug in Live, a bug in a plugin, or something else. A solution or a workaround for one issue will likely not work for others, so we need to investigate the cause of every specific crash. In any case, we would like to help you solve your problem,...

Re: 8.1.4 crashing a lot
Hi Jamie,
when Live crashes it should create a bug report package on next start.
Please send this bug report package to support@ableton.com so we can have a look what is going on.

Tobias

Re: Does anyone know how to control DMX lights in Ableton?
Hi steven, Live does not support DMX out-of-the-box. There is, however, a solution by another user, David Butler, using Max for Live. Even though David's work sounds very intriguing, I have not been able to test his stuff, so I cannot give you any guarantee that it works for your purposes. I would s...

Re: out of memory error
Hi Taximouse, Live does indeed need roughly 64 MB per looper instance. Each looper keeps its audio buffer in RAM, regardless whether it is filled with silence or audio. Unfortunately, this means that you cannot use many loopers in one set because it quickly fills up your RAM. Hope this information h...

Re: Live 8.1.4 on Mac Os X, not working
Hi On, first of all, I don't think you are doing anything wrong. The error message means that Live has problems creating or accessing the folder <your home folder>/Library/Application Support/Ableton Please check that the folder <your home folder>/Library/Application Support exists and that you have...

Re: cute/paste/edit group track's automation?
Hi quandry and 3phase: EDIT: I just learned that things work as expected and that it is rather the specification which may cause the confusion here. By default, a group track is really small in height in arranger. So small that you cannot actually see anything. To reveal automation envelope data, th...
