i have had exactly the same issues with my 828mk2 and a 800mhz powerbook... once an hour or so i get a 1/2 second 'hole' in the audio output.
thought about buying an rme cardbus/multiface... and sell my motu...

moving each fader?
hi randolf,
did you move each fader separately, or has moving one fader been sufficient for you?
i'm using a doepfer drehbank (64 knobs) which has a 'snap' button that sends all fader's values at once - but did encounter dropouts as often as always...
how did you do it: starting live. open ...

i cannot max out latency, because i have three more 'real live playing' musicians in my set that don't like latency...
i also have all energy settings OFF as you said, but didn't find out whether the 'switching off hi Q mode' thing could help for me. will do that ...

open up the console in your applications->tools folder (in german dienstprogramme, don't know the english one) and have a look at your system log!

Midi sync problems
hi folks,
I also use a midiman=m-audio 2x2 USB interface with a tibook as slave running Live V1.52, connected to a hardware sequencer sending midi clock.
Live doesn't sync properly: it receives 90bpm INSTEAD of 120bpm (which is sent by the external hardware synth...)
I DON'T THINK the problem is ...

I want to sync live (V1.52 on mac) via my kurzweil k2000 internal sequencer using a midiman 2x2 usb interface. live exactly gets 3/4 of the original tempo extracted: instead of 120bpm, it syncs with 90 bpm, for example!!!
the ableton crew said this bug would be fixed now, but only in V2 ...
