Excellent--had no idea about the aggregate audio device trick! And I'll check out getting one of these re-amp boxes.
thanks

Using guitar pedals through an audio interface
I'm a little confused how to arrange inputs/outputs when routing audio signals from Ableton into external effects and back into Ableton again.
My signal path is: Ableton (via the External Audio Effect audio device) --> MOTU audio express --> delay pedal --> MOTU --> back to ableton. So, in ...

Ableton not detecting rewire audio from MAX/Msp
Tryin' to simply send audio from Max to Live. Within this Max patch (mlrV) I turn rewire On and select the ad_rewire driver. Then go over to an audio track in ableton and in the i/o dropdown menu ('Audio from') Max/Msp is not available.
Any suggestions?
And yes I opened Live before Max to ensure ...

Working with track delay and hardware
hi all,
I've been working on having live generate MIDI data for some hardware synths, and naturally, there is a bit of latency: when I play a MIDI clip with a click track, I hear that they are slightly off. No big deal, just seems to be a pain to get both tracks outputting on the same beat.

Re: How to get ableton to send MIDI CC?
Ok, and to clarify, by manually mapping you mean entering MIDI map mode, and hitting a function within lie followed by a knob on a controller, right? or is there a 'more manual' way of doing it.

Re: How to get ableton to send MIDI CC?
The instant mapping configuration also sends MIDI out on the same CCs as it uses for MIDI in.
Using this approach with an empty rack and instant mapping you can send out 8 MIDI CCs of your choice...
Not sure if this is actually documented anywhere, but it works.
cool. then I suppose I can put a ...

How to get ableton to send MIDI CC?
Hello,
Does anyone know if it is possible to be able to send MIDI cc controls from ableton? I have a hardware module that can be controlled by a MIDI controller, but without a MIDI controller, I'm wondering if I can edit the module through getting ableton to send MIDI cc's to it. Possible?

CPU spikes and Max Crashes
Hi, So very recently something strange has been occurring, spikes in my CPU from 2-5% to 200-300%, statically freezing live and audio output, but only for a second or two. This began happening when I was running outside Max5 (RT) apps and linking them to live via IAC BUS. Then live would do this CPU ...

Re: Syncing Max patch with Ableton with Rewire (solved)
Hey,
Been trying to get a Maxpatch to receive abletons beat clock. The maxpatch I am using is Daemon, and somehow I should be able to get the maxpatch to be slave to abletons master clock with Rewire. Daemons readme says, "For this to function you need to run a program (Ableton Live, Cubase, Logic ...

Sys-Ex editors/librarians
Hey guys, I recently got a rack synth module (Yamaha TX81Z) and I'm looking for a good Sys-Ex editor so I can edit the module's parameter in real time (on Mac). Also one that can be MIDI mapped to an external control surface. Does anyone have one in mind?
