Ableton not detecting rewire audio from MAX/Msp

Tryin' to simply send audio from Max to Live. Within this Max patch (mlrV) I turn rewire On and select the ad_rewire driver. Then go over to an audio track in ableton and in the i/o dropdown menu ('Audio from') Max/Msp is not available.

Any suggestions?

And yes I opened Live before Max to ensure Live is the rewire host.

I'm fairly certain that Max only supports MIDI over ReWire. You'll have to use something like Soundflower to get audio into Live.

Quoting the Live Users Manual:

"The ReWire technology, developed by Propellerhead Software, provides ReWire-compatible programs with:
• common access to the audio hardware;

Sorry, you're right. I should have remembered because I was using ReWire to bring audio from Max into Live pretty extensively before M4L came out. Duh.

Yeah It's working for me. You have to restart Live once after you have enabled the ad_rewire driver in Max (also quit Max for good measure). Then reopen Live and then Max and then the "Max 6" (if you're using v6) or "MaxMSP" (if you're using v5) option should come available in the input section on your audio tracks.

As stringtapper wrote, be sure to open the master app before the slave... Might be a faulty rewire extension also. Does it work with other apps ?
