I went through 4 full rehearsals over the last week
I would recommend always "rehearsing" a live set setup . This is, as you now know, nearly as important as your actual performance rehearsal. I have always tried to compose in the setup I perform in. I even went so far as to purchase a cheap PA ...

Re: Can I take a simple beat from a song without permission....?
I'm not sure that you are going to find a real answer.
I have heard recently that you can't sample anything from anyone, of any length. I have no idea how much legal weight that has.
However, aren't you talking about reconstructing the beat and not sampling it? If you use your our sounds and just ...

Re: Does this live set crash live for you?
#1thelark nailed it. It is a MIDI feedback problem.
From beta 8.1.2b:
When using a MIDI surface controller it would be possible to choose invalid entries from a routing chooser which could crash Live. [6357]
That sounds like it will cover it.
Nice to know that my first crashing experience with ...

Re: Does this live set crash live for you?
I think I traced the freeze to MIDIYoke and Maschine running together. Maschine alone works fine. But when routed through MIDIYoke crashes. Seeing that MIDIYoke isn't the most frequently updated piece of software (and yet is used by so many) I can't say I'm too surprised. Although I've used it in ...

Does this live set crash live for you?
EDIT:
DOWNLOAD REMOVED.
It is a MIDI feedback problem and not a problem with the live set.

If you don't trust the set here is the setup:
4 MIDI Tracks:
Track 1: Kit-808 Classic (track named 808)

Re: How to go from session view to browser without touching mous
"Ctrl+Shift+F" brings up browser search. Once you type and get results you can navigate through it with your arrow keys.
Also, holding ALT and moving through the interface with the arrow keys can get you to the browser. I can not find a way to switch between the different browsers without clicking ...

Re: so i guess you guys dont come here via ableton.com
Why did they use flash for that?
I guess you missed the "Getdown" section. It has lens flare.
Oh, and the flash is served up by javascript. If disabled you just get a download flash logo, even if you have flash installed. I guess people that use Ableton don't own smartphones. Web dev FAIL.

Re: Yamaha DX-200...Anyone using one?
I remember hearing stories several years ago about these. They use the same boards as some other synth (DX7?) or are compatible with, or something like that. Anyway, if you are buying one used and have a chance to test it, do. I guess people used to take out the boards and then sell them. Maybe I'm ...

Re: MIDI YOKE AND VISTA SP2
Dig around for some instructions. I'm pretty sure if you disable UAC, install yoke, restart, and enable UAC. It will work. I am 100% positive that you can get it to work because I had it working on a previous install of Vista.
EDIT: I got the instructions a little wrong but here you go:

Re: Academic version question
Where are you getting this crap, man?
No need to be rude.
Your license is valid forever after you buy it. Obviously you don't get any more educational discounts anymore when you're no longer a student/teacher, but the stuff you already have doesn't change at all.
Is this the way the ...

Re: Academic version question
Just to clarify, it seems that my information regarding upgrade costs were incorrect.
Academic versions are functionally the same.
Once you end your affiliation with your academic institution the license is no longer valid. Does this remain true if you upgrade? Or does the new license become ...

Re: Academic version question
Functionally, yes. You get the same stuff and it does the same stuff.
One warning however. There is no upgrade path for the Academic version.
I purchased the Live 7 Suite for $800 and the Academic version is about $400 if I'm not mistaken. If I had purchased the academic version upgrading would ...
