Yes,

yes, it is problem! a problem they did not encounter with their testing. The ...

hmmm... the 'crackling' seems to be ASIO related, I authorized my win laptop vista(yuc)i5, and played around (mostly i'm on my mac @ home)...

Re: The Schwarzonator not releasing notes with external vst's
Well, you should verify with the released code, but typically, such a tool will set up a set of "named send - receive pairs" : one set of sends in the main app, and a set of corresponding receives in the "little brother" apps. These pairs are how the two apps communicate with each other.

Re: LFO Everything used non-commercial licensed m4l patch code
Hmmm... not cool. Strikes home, because
I even had a even *earlier* patch in the M4l.com database (actually two) that did very much the same thing, only with a hand drawn lfo/envelope table...and one had a pair, the second triggered by end of first.
But it was buggy, and I never finished them ...

Re: Tonegen - Frequency limit; is this Live or Max?
@ShelLuser : you should read up on a fact of digital music entitled "The Nyquist Theorem".
It explains why this limit is the case. You literally *cannot* produce tones higher than 1/2 (0.5) of your sampling rate. The math does involve Euler's identity, but you can grasp the basic fact of the limits ...

Re: Buying Instruments for Ableton
By the way, have you guys heard of the book "Ableton Live 8 Power"? Just wondering if it's a wise decision to get it.
I have heard great things about the Live Version 6 and Live version 7 of this book series. Given your evident lack of background (no previous DAW, no earlier prod experience) it ...

Re: anyone completely lost with the BASICS of the Live API?
The release of the API with the MaxForLive release was both wonderful, and a cause of great consternation in the Live users who are drawn towards MaxForLive. to understand,
Keep in mind two things (GT, you of course know all this):
1) The API was not even going to be released initially: it was a ...

Re: poor API showcase?
ermm, right.. you clearly missed my point..
Hmm... I explained *why* there were no clever tutorials and
example scripts and patches for the MaxForLive API in the original release,
and none from Ableton since.
That is in answer to your original post:
unless I have missed some deep hidden folder ...

Re: poor API showcase?
Well, I am not sure you were aware:
They were going to release Max4Live *without* the M4L API at all...
They didn't have enough developers to finish it and finish/test all
the other parts of max4live...so it was not going in at all..(!)
until a single hardworking developer put in *tons* of overtime ...

Re: Please, Ableton, i want to talk SySex with my hardware synth
@josquin : yes we have read it numerous times. It doesn't change the fact the lack of sysex within m4l is a major outrage. I dunno what you planned to do with m4l but be sure a lot of people were messing around with hardware synths and sysex on Max and they're stuck now on m4l. For me it means i ...

Obviously, you have not been following this forum.
There has been a freeze on new features until the bugs are all worked out.
This is widely disseminated, include this forum and several others (such as CreateDigitalMusic, I even think it was mentioned in KVR...).
If indeed Live is a choice for you ...
