If you never heard of PeRColate before: PeRColate is a synthesis toolkit, containing a nice collection of different externals for physical modeling synths and other crazy DSP stuff.
This is a collection of objects created by the universities of Princeton and Columbia. You'll find more similar packages like this around the web. Some may be outdated, other still work fine and on both platforms.

Another example of that would be the RTC library. A kit with tools mostly for rhythm generators and processing data.

You can find individual objects on sites like maxobjects.com, but some of these kits come with plenty of educational material and examples. You'll even find that you will have to download some of these kits to get your hands on an individual object you were searching for. These kits are part of the max world and I figured I'd make a post about them here.
