Re: Looking for a good VST Synth for around $200

There's a crapload of really good synths these days: http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/the ... day-621799

My recommendation is if you want one that sounds like analog hardware, pick: u-he Diva. Otherwise, research what you really want.

Re: 9.2 download size

I DL'ed instead of auto-updating and it's 707MB for the 64 bit suite installer. The Max704 installer is 477MB in case you were wondering.

Re: SSD with Live

with an SSD you win a-lot in performance / you lose a-lot in reliability! If you choose to go performance, also consider a better (minimum daily) backup solution. Don't get me wrong, I don't necessarily doubt what you say, but why are these things without moving parts less reliable than HDD's? Just...

The question shouldn't be "Who the best VSTs?".... the real question is ... How do synth? ¯(°_o)/¯ ???

I was on 9.0.2 and it took a while to autoupdate to 9.0.4. Start a session and let it sit for a while to give it a chance...

Re: Automation and plugin delay in Live - why is it early?

I would guess it's because the automation curves are not delayed whereas the audio coming from the plugin is delayed? So the curve is earlier than the waveform it is meant to automate? That's the only think I can think of - but maybe it's too simplistic?

Re: Installing live packs

It's like a zipfile, so you don't need to keep it after you install the contents. You can always download it again if you do need it for a re-install, or back it up to some external drive, but either way no need to keep it on your computer drive.

Re: Live Suite 8.4 final released

Yup, same library for Live 8 32 bit and Live 8 64 bit. This is good, as who would want two copies of the library for 32/64 bit versions? The source content is the same. However, there's a different library for Live 9 beta (32 & 64 bit), and this means different lib for Live 9 when it's released.

Re: Live Suite 8.4 final released

Yeah, that's it ... in fact I checked on my download page and there's no mention of "final" ... it's just the thread title AFAIK. Live 7 was updated for a good 6 months after Live 8 was release, if I recall.
