MIDI implementation needs a facelift

Why are the used MIDI controllers all set to zero when creating a new MIDI-clip?? (see the red line in de MIDI clip view.
When I do the same let's say in Cubase all controllers are clear (not even zero). If for instant I give controller64 a level of 100 at time T+t, Cubase leaves controller64 ...

The editor sucks indeed.

Do it by hand, it's all in the manual. Works great!!!!

MIDI implementation needs a facelift

You're right. Live's MIDI implementation needs a facelift. I (miss)use MIDI for mixerautomation for theaterproductions. But when you import a MIDI-file into Live all used controllers are set to zero at the beginning of the file until a different value comes up(see the red line in the midiclip view ...

MIDI-controllers preset values

Why does the MIDI-controllers have a predefined value of 0, instead of nothing??
Now al my used controllers go to zero at the beginning/start of a MIDI-file.
Can you switch this off?

MIDI cntrl-value to zero

If, for example in Cubase SX, I assign a midicntrl to a certain value at, say, 10 sec. everything before that 10 sec is ignored. The cntrl just goes to that value at 10sec.
If I import that midi-file into Live, Live makes the cntrl goes to zero till that 10sec.
Why??
Even if I make that same ...

I know that some controllers are reserved like you said, but for me for programming it's easier to use f.e. controller 1-10, instead of 1-5,7-11.
In other MIDI software programs it's no problem, except Live.

Wrong MIDI implementation used in Live?

I program a lot of digital mixing consoles (like DM1000/2000) and lighting desks (compulite photon/spark) via MIDI Controller Change Data or Notes ON/OFF or whatever is available.
If I ,for example, program these midi controllers in Cubase, there's no problem. Faders will move, on/off-button wiil go ...

MIDI Controllers -> but not all of the 127 !!

As a sounddesigner I do a lot automation of audiomixers and lightmixers.
Either with Program Change, but a lot with CC-messages.
For example: fader-automation is done by CC-messages. But in the Ableton Controller-List a few Controllers are being left out. Why???

I'm not using the Controllers for ...
