I program a lot of digital mixing consoles (like DM1000/2000) and lighting desks (compulite photon/spark) via MIDI Controller Change Data or Notes ON/OFF or whatever is available.
If I ,for example, program these midi controllers in Cubase, there's no problem. Faders will move, on/off-button wiil go on/off. But when I import that certain MIDI-file into Live, it doesn't work!! Weeks later I found out that I first have to set the CC-value to say: 99 and then a few milliseconds later the same CC-value to 100. Then the fader on the mixingconsole would go to that perticular position.
The same case for the ON/OFF switches -> first CC-value to 1 !!! (NOT ZERO, that doesn't work either in Live) ->then CC-value to 127 to get the switch to ON.
Note ON/Off is even worse.
another example:When I record in Live a MIDI sequence from a lighting desk and play it back on the same lightingdesk, the desk doesn't react like recorded. Sometimes it does...but more often it doesn't.
I think that it got something to do with resetting the controllers, because in Cubase and Protools and Logic you can reset the controllers at the end of every MIDI event.
But in Live you can't. Why not ??
Anyone for help........???
