btw when i load my program i have noticed that the song position will start on both pc's wherever the master is set but...after the pointer is moved song position messages are no longer received by the slave

again any help would be great

Yes i have tried that but it didn't work.I'm pretty sure timecode isn't capabale of sending those messages but i could be wrong

Have you assigned it as a remote control?...if so...have you activated the midi on the midi track you are trying to control the instrument on?You probably have but if not...there is a button at the bottom of each midi track which activates midi control for that specific track.
