I was able to find the right device and get exactly the effect I was looking for.
Thanks, both.

Re: Max LFO for triggering an effect
Ah, perhaps I missed the MIDI version although I note in passing I am also still on Live 10. I'll have another look, thanks.

Re: Max LFO for triggering an effect
Thanks. Not quite as — if I understand it correctly — shaper is working on audio. I'm looking for a way to change the oscillator the Max LFO is using for modulation data.
The term I was looking for an couldn't bring to mind when I mentioned "duty cycle" was "pulse width".

Max LFO for triggering an effect
I'm looking for a way to trigger an effect (in this case TimeFreezer FX) where I want a long hold (playing frozen sound) and a short pause (resampling). What I think I want is a square wave with a low duty cycle — long peaks and narrow gaps.

NEST sequencer — routing MIDI channels to multiple tracks
I'm currently trialling SugarBytes Nest sequencer and I've hit a limitation that appears to be related to Live.
Internally Nest generates 8 channels of MIDI which can be used to drive either its internal instruments, a VST plugin, or be routed to the host.
Here's the problem. I was expecting to be ...

My Ableton is completely knackered since 10.7/8.2.8
Since I updated to OS X 10.7 and Live 8.2.8 Live has been completely broken for me.
Mostly what happens is that it runs but it's window is frozen. So, for example, say I click on the transport start button, the transport starts and the track plays but the transport counter doesn't move, the track ...

Re: Crackles in the rendered WAV
Thanks Klaus but I don't think so.Klauser wrote:Make sure your not clipping the master track. It's probably that.
1. I had a limiter on the master out, set to avoid clipping
2. If I was clipping I should have heard it in Live when playing the track, not just in the rendered wav.

Crackles in the rendered WAV
Hi.
Last night I was making a track in Live (8.2.7, OSX 10.7.2) which I rendered out to a WAV file.
Puzzlingly the WAV file had some crackling in it. Yet, when I went back and replayed the section within Live, no crackling.

Thanks fx23. Should have just gone looked myself shouldn't I?
I've downloaded the LOMnavigator device to figure out what I need.

Generating automation for track send levels
Hi.
I would like to use something like Max for Live LineFO or PeakMod to generate automation data for a set of tracks sends (so I don't have to draw in the automation myself).
Unfortunately none of the devices I have tried offer track sends as a target.
Is this possible? Either via M4L or any ...

Hey there! Might want to check out this thread:

Is there a way to map the launchpad better?
For me the automatic mapping of the Launchpad "window" onto the Live session view is okay but in some ways also a bit of a pain. I find myself inserting empty MIDI tracks all over the place to pad things into even blocks of 8 so I can switch between scenes using the session button and have control ...

How do you implement double-buffering on the Launchpad?
Hi.
Can anyone point me to any documentation of how to use the M4L API to implement double-buffering on the Launchpad?
I've followed Michael Chenetz's tutorials and been able to implement bi-directional control/updating of my sequencer/Launchpad. That works pretty well.
But I'm stumped for how to ...

Setting track MIDI output routing is a bit flaky
I'm using Live 8.1.4 and Max 5.1.4. I'm storing the track current_output_routing and current_output_sub_routing information and then, later, setting it again using the following patch:

Does the Max debugger actually work in M4L?
I ran the message ordering tutorial and the debugger stopped in the tutorial patch at the appropriate place when I clicked the first button. Excellent!
I went to my own patch and added some breakpoints. Enabled debugging. Nothing. Discovered the patch was no longer actually working. Then Max ...
