Setting track MIDI output routing is a bit flaky

Post by sandbags » Tue Jul 20, 2010 10:03 pm

I'm using Live 8.1.4 and Max 5.1.4. I'm storing the track current_output_routing and current_output_sub_routing information and then, later, setting it again using the following patch:

When I was using Kontakt on a single track and simply changing the output sub-routing to talk to different MIDI channels everything was working fine.

Now I am switching between different tracks hosting instruments and what I am finding is that it's often not setting the output sub-routing properly. That is it reliably switches track but it's left pointing to "Track In". I have to invoke it a second time to get it to set the routing to a specific instrument on the track.

Is there some kind of timing anomaly? Like the object hasn't registered the track has changed when the second message to set the track current_output_sub_routing arrives?

Maybe I've made some other error?

Any help would be appreciated. The whole device is available here here.

Matt
