Re: easily changing audio playback speed during performance
Couldn't you do this by simply warping the speech, to play at it's original tempo with Live set at 120 bpm. Don't bother moving warp markers and let the speech play at it's normal tempo by default. IF you map a controller to the BPM of your track, you could set the midi map for the tempo range to ...

I've had a few pairs over the years, and I have to say I'm pretty happy with a pair of active Alesis Monitor Ones. Nice flat sound. Also held on to a pair of Active Behringer Truth's cos they go punchy and loud for when you want to have a bit of fun, but the Alesis are very reliable for a mixdown ...

I've never had this problem either, and have put multiple records out solely from Live. Masters always sound good, at least as good as before I was using Live (I am still putting everything through T-Racks) if not better.

double-time in Midi patterns
hi,
does anyone know of a way to sub divide a midi pattern (say in Impulse) at more than the Global time signature, ie. for double time hihats or for trills in riffs etc? They're just divided in ticks as far as I can see.
Cheers,
Phil

This is really cool for stereoizing mono drum loops too, I use two tracks, with EQs panning the hats (HIs) a bit to the left, the high mids (snares) a bit to the right. If you've just boosted these frequencies and the panning of both are equidistant, all the other frequencies will fall in the centre ...

This is a royal pain in the ass, basically cos Impulse doesn't seem to be associating the warping of a loop at all when dragging a sample portion into it. one way around it is just fall short of the end of the portion you want, then drag it in, but for cleaner chops, chop the loop into its composite ...
