double-time in Midi patterns

Post by naulboy » Wed May 18, 2005 1:53 pm

hi,

does anyone know of a way to sub divide a midi pattern (say in Impulse) at more than the Global time signature, ie. for double time hihats or for trills in riffs etc? They're just divided in ticks as far as I can see.

Cheers,
Phil

tip for double-time midi

You can make multiple copies of your midi clip, and set the original tempo to be multiples (x2, x4, etc). Once you've done that, also set the clip quantize to 1/4 or 1/8 note, and whenever you want a fill, trigger the faster clip. You can even set up some clip actions to do it for you.

Good luck.

um, what do you mean? Do you want to speed an already recorded midi clip up to double time? Or do you just want to be able to do 32nd notes etc.? If it's the latter, just zoom in and ctrl+1,2,3 or 4.
