Re: I need a new XBOX 360 game

^^^ That would be "Dead Rising". It's one of my favorite games this generation, but it's polarizing. You'll love it or despise it. Alan Wake is REALLY good. If you liked Dead Space, you'll probably like Alan Wake. It does have the same problem as Dead Space in that it's pretty short. It was worth it ...

Re: OT - my letter to Verizon (aka a warning people who sign up)

I've had almost as many f*ups with verizon customer service as I had with comcast, but not quite. It seems you can't win. At least verizon's product is actually good.

Re: Latency!

Some VST's can add significantly to latency. I recently bought vintage warmer and realized that I can't have any instances of it in my project until the mixing stage because soft-synths become impossible to play.

Re: Anyone using regular hardware synths as controllers?

Ensoniq EPS. I haven't found another controller with as nice a key feel (to me), although it's quite noisy.

Re: Tribute to Coil : This immortal Coil

I listened to the previews and I like it enough to buy it. But then I realized it would be around $40 after conversion and shipping to get it to the U.S. I always prefer physical releases, but in this case, is there any chance there will be a less expensive digital-only release?

Awesome as usual. Will there be a physical release?

Re: Tribute to Coil : This immortal Coil

I'm reasonably convinced that Coil was the best band. Period.
Therefore I will check this out. Hopefully it's cheaper than what I'm used to paying for official Coil releases.

Re: [Hard Synthpop] New DedMan WIP track

Thanks for listening, and thanks for the vocal mix suggestions. I also realized the vocals were mixed a bit to high-and-dry when I listened to the track on a few different system. This seems to be a recurring mix translation issue for me. It's either my tannoys or my room (or both). I'm working on a ...

[Hard Synthpop] New DedMan WIP track

http://soundcloud.com/dedman/goodbye-my-friend-work-in-progress

More or less finished but needs polish. I've heard it too much, so I'd love to get new ears on it and hopefully some suggestions/feedback. This is the 1st track I've recorded with my new mic (NT1-A).

Recorded and arranged in Live-8 ...

Re: skinny puppy, who's still a fan?

I love sp and side-projects. I'm actually a little surprised to see such love here though, considering how infrequently industrial or ebm tends to come up here. I still remember the first time I heard download's Omniman when I was in college. The tiger sounds at the beginning, the crazy bassline ...

FWIW, I re-edited the track based on helpful feedback and posted a new mix. I think it's an improvement. Thanks!

I meant to reply on sideline but forgot. Really good stuff! Good vocals on Painbody too, which seems to be a rarity for that genre.

Re: [industrial] "Crossing the Line" DedMan

Thanks! Thanks the kind of feedback I need. I got the same comment from someone else a few minutes ago and I agree. I'm going to go back and work on making the vocal sit in the mix better. I'm not 100% sure how to do that, but hopefully I can figure it out. Maybe it's just to hot, maybe more ...

Re: [industrial] 'second sight' by Dead When I Found Her

Very good! The synth textures remind me a bit of SP's Brap, but updated. Good vocals too. I'd like to hear more industrial in this vein rather than the dull dance stuff that seems to be the trend of the day.

I posted this on your cloud, but I'll echo it here since industrial doesn't seem to get ...
