Midi track: "always play C1" regardless of input note?
So here's the thing:
I want my bass notes to trigger my kick so they are always stuck together.
To do this I have one midi track for my bass that sends midi to another midi track that has a Sampler playing my drum kick on C1.
Right now I have a Scale device on the Sampler that converts every input ...

Go full yolo now that you have the money. Don't want to refrain on spending for the good stuff and then realize you spent the 60 bucks difference in shit you didn't need.

Re: Which Macintosh to get? (Help)
If you already own a screen I would suggest a Mac Mini.
Late generation can come with:
i7 Quad Core 2.6 Ghz
1 TB HDD
16GB RAM -> Buying an extra 16GB ram would be something like 50 bucks (got here in Europe for EUR 60)
All this for a thousand Euros here, probably about the same in dollars, if not ...

Re: ...yet another computer setup question !
Thanks trevox. I browsed the Live 8 performance thread a little but couldn't find someone with an i5 PC lapyop. I looked Lenovo PCs a little, it's true, they look really nice, but the pricing is way too high (averagely + expensive than Sony !).
I think I will go for the i7 Dell, but if someone can ...

...yet another computer setup question !
Hello :)
I've been making production and performance on OSX for three years & a half on my 2008 13" white macbook which always made me very happy, I never had the slightest problem and it still runs amazingly for such an old laptop. Well, it's still getting old, so I'm thinking of getting a new one ...

I've been using a pair of Fostex PM-1 MK-II for 2 years and a half now, and they are great.

Re: Best 49 Key Midi Controller
I hear the keys on the Akai MPKs massively self-destruct, though.
Don't know much about it, but Akai is generally way more solidly built than M-audio, and I guess if you use the keys of an Akai keyboard in the way they "massively self-destruct", M-audio keys would instantaneously annihilate.

Re: Best 49 Key Midi Controller
M-Audio keyboards are good but be careful with the USB bus. I've had one from the time they called it "keystation e49" and the USB bus finally broke after too many plugging/unplugging operations. Now, I own this Oxygen 49 and the USB seems a little more solid, but I think it's still M-Audio and ...

Did you make sure you entered the number with the actual version live that came with your Amp ?

Re: 2011 Macbook Prod performances? (live situation) 13" or 15"?
OK, thanks for the reassuring information :)
I'm actually thinking about switching from Mac to PC for the studio, but keep using a mac for live performance, and since I just have my small macbook for both now, I'll buy 2 new machines, so in the end of the day it'll be a pretty high budget, that's ...

2011 Macbook Pro performances? (live situation) 13" or 15"?
I am currently using live7 with a 2008 white MacBook. Live8 can't run correctly on it, and this is why I didn't upgrade yet. I am considering buying a MacBook Pro 15" w/ intel i7 2,0 ghz quad core, but due to high price I hesitate between this and a 13" w/ intel i7 2,7 ghz dual core. I will use it ...

Hey,
I just finish my last EP, which I'm really proud of, and as it was made mostly in live, I thought I'd post it there.
Been highly influenced by Four Tet's last LP, I think that gives you a good indication about the style.
