Midi track: "always play C1" regardless of input note?

Post by wreckcode » Sun Nov 20, 2016 11:34 am

So here's the thing:

I want my bass notes to trigger my kick so they are always stuck together.
To do this I have one midi track for my bass that sends midi to another midi track that has a Sampler playing my drum kick on C1.
Right now I have a Scale device on the Sampler that converts every input note to C1. Problem is that if I play anything on another octave, Scale will still play a C, but it'll be a C2, C3, etc.
Now, on the Sampler's midi Range, if I allow notes above C2 it will play my kick but pitched up by one octave, and if I don't well, it just doesn't play anything.

Is there any way I can tell a midi track in Live "whatever input your receive, ALWAYS convert it to C1"?
I thought it'd be the simplest thing, and I just spent 2h of headache on this... #frustration

Thank you!

Put your Simpler in a Drum Rack and set the cell's input to "all notes" ant its output to C1.

what jur said, but make sure you also set the Scale to 0% on Sampler (to the left of Pan in your pic)
