Query > Live vs's ...

Hey all.

Just another query which relates to a topic i posted a while back about an assignment i have done on Live.

Just wondered if any of you could describe how you use or prefer to use Live in terms of producing? or do you prefer Live for performing music instead of making music?

Disadvantages ...

At first i thought 'Im not sure about the hi hatty / snare thing on its own to begin with' but then once everything kicks in it all work s really well together.

Id agree with turning down the hi hat slightly. I like the sharpness of the hat, my type of hat that hehe.

I can imagine that clap ...

I taught myself how to mix in less than a week.

It's fucking easy.

2. DJing in the sense of "selecting" tracks is a little harder, but I guarantee you that it's WWWWAAAAAAYYYYYY easier to choose a good track than to write one. I know, I have done both.

I can't wait until DJing as an ...

I had the chance to see Scion a few weeks back, although ended up dancing to British Murder Boys non stop at the same time  shame they clashed. I heard some stuff to begin with and was sounding really nice.

really want to see Rhythm & Sound at some point, will try and check out the footage on ...

Wow this topic is certainly intersting, if not bringing some views home quite scarily.

Im not sure what to think of all of this. Do we all stop buying vinyl now? Everything should be cd / mp3? :?

I dont think i could ever do that personally, having a mix is great fun. I think moving with ...

how about a contrasting idm section after

How creative do you want to go? As in could you see yourself making it a breakier beat maybe after one of the later breaks or you just fancy adding another clever little riff..? Or moulding into a beauitful minimalism piece using the same chords hehe ...

I have never thought of this before, always done the bounce to audio.

So say if you have an insert on the first midi track such as autopan or arpache5 (Cubase sx) will it save those settings along with the other tracks?

How would you route though? Change the channels to that one channel, mind you ...

I only got to listen to the one (being on slow dial up)

I agree with all the comments made, it just depends where you want to go with the song and the point of it. If you do want to make a killer trance tune then maybe pushing it further creatively would achieve this. But do you want a trancey tune ...

Wow some even most of these studio pics are enough to make someone very excited. The studio at college is nice, although the mackie is a bit dodgy now after so many people battering it everyday without having a clue.
The most i get out of it is mic'ing up a dodgy snare.

Its so unfortunate i dont ...
