if it's a VST, if you have the recent beta, you can hover over the VST and see if it reports any latency....
you should be able to have more than one controller hooked up without issue, so them tripping over each other shouldn't be a problem.

Re: LIVE 9.2b1 Discuss....
yes, I understand how everything works. Again, never been affected by the way Live's Compensation worked pre Live 9.2. The post by Grill made it seem like timing is way off for more things than automation. Just making sure he understood what has actually changed as lots of people don't really under...

Re: LIVE 9.2b1 Discuss....
I'm one of the people who never had any issues w pre 9.2 automation compensation. So all of my projects sound pretty much exactly the same in 9.2. Your talking about automation timing relative to audio right? Nothing else was changed as far as plugin compensation. So, I don't understand why anythin...

Re: LIVE 9.2b1 Discuss....
I'm suprised no one mentioned that the timing of old projects (particularelly heavy ones) is now complettely off in 9.2 some tracks sound audibly and clearly overcompensated when played back in 9.2 versus 9.1, giving a very non musical rush feel that spans un-evenely over individual tracks this is ...

Re: What Max 4 Live device can't you do without?
specifically for things that you can really only do in max (so ignoring things like the convolution reverb pro which, while nice, there are VSTs for): liquid rhythm j74 progressive one of the various device randomizers spectral delay is not that common i just found 'Max Matrix Devices' which lets yo...

Re: LIVE 9.2b1 Discuss....
remember that when saving/loading, live gathers the current settings for every vst (as a binary blob, iirc) and adds it to the project save XML. i don't know how long this takes per plug, but clearly if you have more plugs, this will take longer. it may be possible for ableton to optimize here, but ...

...what does "third-party plug-ins now have lower latency" mean?...aren't they effected by the global latency settings? i mean...when i select 256 samples buffersize what equals in x ms do third party instruments have another latency than that???.... i'd forgotten about this one... so i t...

Re: LIVE 9.2b1 Discuss....
Although there must become one feature more: "legacy mode plugin delay compensation" that would be nice, but i have a feeling the solution is going to be 'keep a 9.1.7 install around for a while'... the changes seem to be pretty deep, and undoing them with a config parameter might be tric...

yes, it looks like this is eliminated - no more delays for M4L effects!roomkillahprods wrote:Hoping this update eliminates delay in m4l midi devices. Regardless of how minimal that delay is, it prohibits some really interesting things.

Re: Live 9 Drum rack cuts frequencies really? Possible Bug
i would also try turning off the filter... in mine, it defaults to on, but at 22KHz, which is not necessarily off, since the filter cutoff is often the 3db point. 10 KHz is only an octave below there or so, so you might see dropoff from 11-22khz. But you can just turn it off completely, which should...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?
2. Live has odd behavior that adds up buffer delay every time you insert vst. No other host does this. umm... it *better* add up buffer delay every time you insert a VST... otherwise, the *audio* will be out of sync, not just the automation. however, from what i have heard, some other hosts don't a...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?
Also all time based fx in generel, 3rd party or native are not very well compensated if I remember corectly. this is the other issue... time based fx that have reference to the bar will be out of sync... i.e. if it's just using the BPM to set the delay time - fine. if you're trying to do trancegate...

Re: What 3rd Party Reverb do you use in Live?
i recently did another shootout of the reverbs i have here. csr isn't bad but it is showing its age, and wasn't quite as smooth as some of the others. if you really want that subtle sound, i'd take a look at eareverb, perhaps the cheaper SE version which is around $48/39E... i already have a lot of ...

Re: Live 9 will not allow me to drag mp3 to audio track
Unfortunately, anyone running jbridge has to run Live as administrator :( One workaround I have found is to use explorer++ in administrator mode. ( https://explorerplusplus.com/ ) Of course, since explorer++ is not native to windows, many times I end up in regular explorer instead. Or maybe want to...
