Re: Running Push 2/Live 9 with closed Macbook lid
Recent generations of MacBook Pro no longer vent through the keyboard, they do so through the sides and at the rear. I run my 2017 MBP closed when I'm in the studio, with Push 2 and don't have any issues. I rarely exceed ~45% CPU for an extended period of time though so YMMV if your own sets are mor...

Re: DUB MACHINES, Anyone?
Idle should be less than 10%. Although the device manages CPU load based on its state, so it is possible to use it at less (and more) CPU. "State" here mainly means what 'Mode' and 'Character' and 'Processing' settings are set. The other thing to remember is that, because of a combination of the wa...

Re: Live 9 and Konnekt 6 experiences on Mac OS X?
I have a Konnekt 6 and use it with Live 9 on a Retina 15" MBP via a Thunderbolt > FW cable. I don't have any issues, but you would need to be more specific about what kind of circumstances you are thinking of in the following statement - Especially interested in CPU percentage usage of the drivers, ...

Re: Push DrumRack Sample Selection .. Again ;)
Hi, No you aren't doing anything wrong - that threw me at first too, having heard everyone mention 'sample hot-swapping' before I got my Push.. unfortunately this is a misconception as it is actually pad/cell hot-swapping that is occurring, it just so happens that samples are one of the things you c...

Re: Katy Perry Mixer - "Ableton sounded terrible" (SoundonSound)
Ahem.. In our interview, Sandy Vee is very enthusiastic about Nuendo, and also appears to use plug-ins made by Waves and Universal Audio almost exclusively. While his enthusiasm comes across as very genuine, he’s happy to divulge that he’s endorsed by the likes of Steinberg , Waves, Universal Audio,...

Re: Un-installed M4L but can't get rid of M4L preset 'folders'
I think I have fixed it! A single Library but multiple folders one level up reflecting versions of Live 8 I had previously installed in ~/Library/Application Support/Ableton, e.g. Live 8.1 Live 8.2 etc. I am currently using 8.2.2 so I deleted the following - ~/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Liv...

Un-installed M4L but can't get rid of M4L preset 'folders'
Hi I sold my M4L license and subsequently un-installed M4L by - > Deleting the Max folder from /Applications > Un-installing any M4L Live Packs > Re-authorising Live after the M4L license was removed from my Ableton account What I can't get rid of are these 'ghost' M4L preset folders in the browser,...

Re: Think Ableton is really going bankrupt and out of biz?
I'm far less interested in programming Live from the living room with an iFad and max patching than I am in Live STEPPING UP WITH PROPER DAW FEATURES. I don't use other DAWs but from what I hear Live's Arrange view compared to other DAWs is a joke, for example. to hell with the gadgetry, get the ba...

From memory you can download the demo then update over the top and activate it in Service Centre?

Re: Help! Nearly all Ableton's native effects causing clipping!?
It may seem counter-intuitive but applying a low cut will frequently raise output volume, depending on the input source, and the steeper the slope the more the volume can be affected. This is not down to Ableton's Filter/EQ, try another non-linear phase EQ or filter on the same source and you will s...

Re: AU vs VST...discovery?
The clicking you mention, I get that too and it is a pain in the arse. Clicks from stopping playback using the transport rather than stopping all clips, right? I was pondering a dabble with VST over AU again actually, triggered by reading the Analog Industries blog and hearing him trash AU funnily o...
