Still can't record automapped controller tweaks!

I have the same problem with my Korg MicroKontrol - can't record automapped parameters in Live 8.0.1

I left everything running over night (including rudely unplugging a hardware controller that was feeding data into my software) and when I restarted my controller it sends messages which Ableton now ignores. Actually, CC messages are still fine, it's just note messages that it's not doing anything ...

The MIDI data being sent to Live looks exactly the same when it doesn't work as when it does work. It's obviously still being recognised as track data because the relevant light is flashing. It's also being picked up fine when I go into MIDI map mode. It just, for some reason, stops triggering ...

I have been doing some work sending MIDI to Live on the Mac using Virtual Ports. It works fine usually, but occasionally Live starts ignoring the Track MIDI.

SYMPTOM:
MIDI Track In Indicator flashes when I send MIDI, but does not play MIDI on tracks.
If I go into MIDI edit mode, I can map MIDI ...

Mmmm ... I'm worried that the poll could quickly dissuade Ableton from implementing my desired feature. Therefore, I posit the theory that it is because most sequencers force the user to stick with one time-signature (or make it impossibly awkward to change) that most people have not tried it.

Is is possible to set different time signatures for different bars in Live?

This would be an invaluable feature for me, and render Live the most fantastic thing ever invented.

Also... I want use MIDI to play the Reaktor VST plugin as an instrument. Is this possible? MIDI Thru or something?
