Re: Seamless loop playback doesn't work in Arrangement View

The fix for this issue is now generally available in Live 12.4. From the release notes:
Fixed an issue where clips copied or recorded from seamlessly looping unfaded Session clips would not seamlessly loop.

Re: Seamless loop playback doesn't work in Arrangement View

Ableton support have reproduced the bug. Here's what they said:

After an internal investigation, we were able to reproduce the issue you reported under certain conditions.

We’ve now been able to confirm that the clicking behavior in Arrangement View does not occur universally, but specifically ...

Re: Seamless loop playback doesn't work in Arrangement View

I click Warp twice in the clip (the one in the arrangement) to un-warp and re-warp it, followed by Loop again (since un-warping has canceled the loop). When I drag on the end of the clip in the arrangement to create a couple of loop repeats, the transitions are clean as a whistle, no click.

I ...

Re: Seamless loop playback doesn't work in Arrangement View

Ableton Support have reproduced the issue. They closed the ticket insisting it's a problem with the audio clip we have been testing with, and not a problem with the playback engine. I provided instructions for them to independently verify the seamlessness of the test clip, but they conveniently left ...

Re: Seamless loop playback doesn't work in Arrangement View

If I un-warp the clip, then warp and loop it again, I don't hear the clicks anymore. Don't know if that helps
I can't reproduce this. When I un-warp, then warp and loop it again, I still hear clicks.

If anyone is interested in reproducing the test, I've uploaded the project used in my earlier demo video here: https://grough.com/AbletonSeamlessLoopTest.zip

Re: Seamless loop playback doesn't work in Arrangement View

maybe the position of the warp marker might be a factor
I can confirm that none of the following make a difference:
  • Clip warp marker position
  • Clip start position
  • Clip HiQ mode
  • Audio device sample rate
  • Audio device buffer size

Re: Seamless loop playback doesn't work in Arrangement View

The sort of work around is to disable time stretch and remove the auto fades ( if enabled ) and duplicate the clip

Thanks, that is a workable option. The workaround I'm using is to load my loop into a Sampler device with Sustain Mode set to Loop. Sampler is capable of seamless looping. Then I ...

Seamless loop playback doesn't work in Arrangement View

I noticed that Live doesn't have the ability to play a seamless loop in Arrangement View without adding a little pop sound each time playback crosses the loop point. At that point, the audio cuts to zero very briefly (enough to be audible) when it should be a perfectly smooth transition.

when you choose another track as a track input, live automatically sidechains the original tapped track.it still goes to the master AND to the track you want to use for input on. the sends and return track stuff isn't necessary.

track 1 is an audiofile set to master as its output.
track 2 has your ...

Ability to Route a track to more than one place

I wish there was a way to route the input of a track into a specific plugin input. You can do this now using "Audio To", but there is no equivalent on the other end, "Audio From"

There is a more in depth explanation and discussion of the problem here:

Ok, seems like everyone knows what I'm talking about and there is no solution that doesn't involved creating extra tracks, send or otherwise.

I'm less concerned about CPU resources than I am about creating unnecessary tracks. This kind of thing can really complicate an otherwise simple set.

I'll ...

Routing a track to more than one place

Is there any way to reroute a track's output to another track while still sending its output to Master?

I'm using an audio effect plugin that can accept multiple inputs. I know that audio from other channels can be routed to any of these multiple inputs using the "Audio To" drop down controls. I'm ...
