yep- when i was djing with ableton i would just adjust each song's clip gain so it would reach a certain RMS level before i saved it into my library

as for glue compressing / limiting... i never bothered with that. the tracks have (usually) been mastered already - no one really expects a total ...

just tried it - completely blank project, loaded kapture into master

then loaded a gate, and turned it off

unticked everything in snapshot filter, and hit kapture

turned gate on

loaded "snapshot 1" and the gate turned back off!

i have live 8.2.2 and also max 5.1.8 - does this not happen ...

this would be a very useful device, except that it always captures the state of buttons!

i am also having a related issue with 8.2.2

when installing, it reaches the "copying file c:\program files\live 8.2.2\redist\vcredist_x86.exe" part, waits there a while, and then a dialogue box pops up and says "the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006). click on ok to terminate ...

as much as i love ableton live, the reverb is shocking! really cheap, nasty, yucky.

i don't have logic but i have protools 8 - comparing the ableton reverb to protools' air reverb is quite shocking.

yeah i had this issue, 8.1.1 solved it

this forum is a great resource of information, but FINDING the information is really quite difficult!

most forums have a way to search the topic titles, but this one doesn't

am i the only one that gets annoyed by this?

is there a workaround - a seperate search engine or something?

i've always had this problem with ableton over the years i've used it (version 7 and 8), and on different computers

automation always seems to be out a *bit* in the arrangement view. usually it's a bit too early; say 30 ms or so. annoying when you're trying to do things rhythmically, eg gating ...

i haven't, but i noticed using my launchpad with my (powered) belkin usb hub made it VERY sluggish, even with nothing else plugged in! so if you need a usb hub to connect them, perhaps do some research into what is a good hub..
