The newish Electro-Harmonix "Freeze" pedal is a bundle of noisy xmas fun.

Fwiw, mine shipped Friday from Sweetwater. Their prices aren't always the best, but their service is quite superior, and they apparently have a bit of stock.

So does that mean you can't use any of those other devices, or just that you had to get the APC40 "straight" first?

Not within your specified price range, but if you don't mind dropping some coin for high quality, I found a demo set of Ultrasone Proline 750 for $250. New they cost $475. I my opinion, there's nothing out like them. Fantastic.

Another option is to use Dropbox or Windows Live Sync (which does support the mac, believe it or not) to synchronize your directories.

I used to use an 1820m, but knowing I was going to a Mac this year, I bought an Ultralite to replace it. the Ulatrlite has 95% of the sound quality of the Emu convertors IMO, it's SOOOO close.

Having said that, I like the Motu better, easier to use, more portable, firewire (future proof), rock ...

Not saying the end result was bad... Live 4 CSi did get some good reviews and is still selling pretty well (and I AM getting royalty checks still, so thank you to all that have purchased it) just wish I had more time and a smoother experience with it so I could have produced a better product. Ouch. Despite all that, you've gotten pretty rave reviews on Amazon. But, having been in the tech publishing business for a few years, I have no doubt that the story you're telling is true. Too bad. It could be a very effective tool....
