Re: Tutorial - MIDI SET UP BEHRINGER FCB-1010 ON ABLETON LIVE
At first I wasn't getting anything to light up when I was tracking until I did a factory reset. I've tried to setup button 1 to send CC22 @ 127. Nothing ableton shows tracking indicator when I press anything but won't assign anything when I try to map it in midi mode. Also, nothing flashes on armed ...

Re: "Choppa" effect using standard plugins
The Rack has 8 channels. Each channel has a beat repeat. It appears that there is only one beat repeat at a time because each channel of the rack he clicks on has only one instance of beat repeat.
Ok, I get that but how do you cycle each channel in sequence of eighth notes?
For instance ...

Re: "Choppa" effect using standard plugins
It is the native plugins?

You think so? Now can you tell me how the chain is created? How is it that you can apply different parameters to a single device that change based on, what appears to be, a step sequence? In the video, there doesn't appear to be more then one beat repeat ...

"Choppa" effect using standard plugins
The effect really seems to be a chain of beat repeats (or anything) can be "sliced" and selected using macro control and having an effect automated for any of those slices. Here is an example of a commercial live pack that accomplishes this:

Re: Control loop start and loop length
One thing I've found that produced the result I was expecting was with Reaktor's Beatlookup. Here's a thread that you'll find helpful:

It's a little bit of a trick to start but it's really fun once you get it.

Control loop start and loop length
Recently, I've been playing around with the start point of a loop. Changing the start point and length in real time via controller seems like a cool idea only that when I assign it to anything the start jumps at a resolution of 1 bar rather then quarter note or ________. Is there a way to control ...

Re: aux send / global fx bus question
OGP... you have just asked the million dollar question. it seems logical that you would be able to send a track to a bus and while doing so fade the original send track.
this issue has frustrated me the past couple of months since i realized it was possible but no solution has been practical

Re: aux send / global fx bus question
Just trying to figure out the best way to use the least amount of resources to minimize the amount of interaction I will do with a mouse or looking at a laptop while performing.
i find that the best way to do this is just to simplify the live set. minimize the things you actually need to control ...

Re: aux send / global fx bus question
That's helpful. I tried doing something like this last night with some luck but I thought it was a little cumbersome. I suppose I could get used to it.
I was curious if it where possible to keep the fx on every track but use the same surface controls to enable / disable and change parameters ...

aux send / global fx bus question
I mostly didn't use Ableton until recently playing around with the idea of a hybrid performance / dj set. For the most part, I have a good grasp on programming racks, mapping and triggering stuff. Common effects I use are stuff like delay, auto-filter and beat repeat. I find myself putting it on ...
