I personally think you're using the wrong tool (Ableton Live) for the job. MainStage (by Apple) is specifically designed to be used as a live-performance tool.

@jur Yes - and the issue coming up in this forum is that there are all sorts of bad racks and bad info. For anyone still on this - we want to make an actual x-over and you can null test that. Here is such a premade rack jur mentions

I second this and my friend thirds this. The new live panner does not solve lives inability to have multichannel audio clips, thus surround songs must be split into channels and grouped for render - but then a group clip cannot be named so in the performance set you don't know what you are looking at.
