Re: How long will you wait to upgrade to Live 9?

well 8 was pretty stable for me until the last update.....now disc dropouts are common and shut downs frequent..

Re: More experimental electronic or whatever you might call it.

I read your description before I listened to the track so I think I was already expecting the beat and pad relationship to be strained in the track...and I found it so. the pads were beautifully arranged, very pleasant sonically, and I get what you were trying to achieve with the "nastiness" of the ...

Re: first timer

Welcome Casey. I was wondering when you'd getting around to posting. Very nice synth sounds and vocal samples. By your desc of the track, I tried to get a sense of your motif and imagined sitting on the dock watching the ships rolling in. You've successfully set the scene. Would loved to ...

Re: Experiment with randomness

great stuff...I really like how you used only Ableton's synths which really helps show case them...all to often I open a softsynth or stick in a hardware one rather than look at what my own DAW can offer..

I enjoyed it...length didnt bother me

Re: first attempt at electrohouse

well you're not going to like it but

"very cool it doesn't need anything else " :)

I agree with the vocals but if there isnt going to be a main singer and few samples could keep the interest going...as its stands you could still stick a fork in it

Re: Sinatra cover

Fun and refreshing - only complaint is that the vocals become pretty difficult to hear during the bigger hits! Not sure how to remedy that exactly but I'm pretty sure sidechaining compression helps?

+1, sidechain it gentle, it'll help bring out the vocals and should be transparent

Overall ...

Re: New Genre - Drone Step

I enjoyed it...great stuff, pretty industrial but from 3.30 on it had a really dark house vibe about it..

Id still say the kick is letting it down a bit...Id layer another kick sample in their and just EQ it for the boom/sub frequencies..as it stands its too sharp imho

some great kick samples ...
