Live does have a feature that allows multiple takes to be captured in a single file.
In arrangement view, set up a loop and turn on looping.

Korg has two Electribes that look almost identical. They have similar model names. Best I've been able to tell they seem almost identical. Am I correct in understanding the EMX1SD has some kind of synth engine in it, and the ESX1SD is essentially a sampler?

The "live" mode in FL is a joke. You're quickly going to be jockeying a gazillion patterns with no easy way to wrangle them. Most MIDI assignments are super easy, some of the more important assignments are a major head-exploding PITA (the mod wheel??!? SERIOUSLY!?).

I use a USB 2.0 four port hub with a power supply. The launchpad is dog slow on it for some reason as well. Even just a tiny amount of latency seems to really affect the launchpad's performance.
