Control resolution of UI objects?
Hi all, I am well on my way building some nice tonegens in M4L, but now I stumbled onto a problem that I have not found a solution for (tried googling & searching various forums already): I am using live.dials in native mode (ie. native "raw" float range of 0. - 1.), and for some reason I cannot map...

Re: APC40 vs. iPad
You make it sound like Lemur would somehow be superior to using an iPad..? To me, they both have the same challenges.. Actually, I might even prefer an iPad over the lemur as it lacks the accelerometer..

Re: APC40 vs. iPad
You can't really compare the two IMO. Say what you will about the iDevices, and about their "learning curve", but I beg to differ. Just using a "crossfader" for basic DJ juggling is a pain, doing lightning fast fader cuts is practically impossible. Now, I did manage to learn to scratch a bit with th...

Re: Are the knobs on most MIDI controllers too close together?
I feel that manufacturers should focus on two things: 1) leave enough room between the controls. Take a look at a DJ mixer aimed towards scratch DJ's - plenty of room between everything! 2) not all knob pots are created equal. I find the 7-sided ones, like those used by Moog, to be the most precise ...

Re: hooking up moog little phatty stage ii into mac
And you have your midi settings configured in the lil phatty? if you use USB, you must set MIDI INPUT and/or MIDI OUTPUT to use "usb".. IIRC the settings default to "off" (?) Also, make sure you have the latest OS/firmware for the phatty.. Amos has been fixing things and adding features quite a bit ...

Re: Getting that Trance-Gate Effect
Am I missing something here? Are we not essentially talking about a certain tremolo effect?
If so then I suggest using clip envelopes for manipulating the volume of the desired track, much simpler than many alternatives suggested here IMO..

Re: Do you use 3rd party VSTs when performing live?
I've always used third party FX plugins with live, never had any probs onstage. Last time I also had two 3rd party VIs during a live set - all worked without problems (I used D16 drumboxes and Zebra 2.5)

Re: If Live 9 doesn't deliver...
...I'm going to switch to Five512 Numerology. Sure, it's not as megaflexible as M4L, but most of the top downloaded m4l patch functions are built in, like lfos etc.. And it's fun as herg to use
EDIT: There's so much to Numerology that I can't even begin to describe to y'all..

Re: Ableton crashing a lot lately...Memory Issue?
Not sure if this is related to the problem you're having, but yesterday my Live 8.2.1 stopped working. First I got a crash, so I restarted the app, no biggie.. But then Live said "audio engine is disabled", and now every time I try to switch the audio engine back on, I get a beach ball followed by a...

Nice! I've been playing quite a lot with the lil fatty lately.. If this has all the features in a rackmount space with a smaller price tag, I expect this to sell pretty well..

But hey, it's not like I need to release anything - For livesets I usually DJ all those bits together. Works for me at least

Re: Tapestop (using curve and a delay)
It tells me that no one has used and seen how good that tape stop vst actually is. And to build a tape stop plug, with out a tape start function is pretty dumb imo. Hey, sugarbytes made the same mistake. I realise that m4l is empowering, but i am not a coder, and i never will be. Its back to lovely...
