There's always TRAKTOR for catering to all one's tapestop etc needs.. You kids are so lazy nowadays. But if that will keep you from switching to mac, well, your loss really.dna598 wrote:It tells me that no one has used and seen how good that tape stop vst actually is. And to build a tape stop plug, with out a tape start function is pretty dumb imo. Hey, sugarbytes made the same mistake.
I realise that m4l is empowering, but i am not a coder, and i never will be.
Its back to lovely windows for me i think. I hacked the mac anyway.
BTW, why do you even need such a feature in a plugin form, you can make tapestops with basic live clip editing / fx.. Oh yeah, I forgot, you're one of those ppl who want everything now, everything for free, and you can't be bothered to read any manuals etc. Sucks to be you I guess? Oh, but I dgress.. this has nothing to do with staying OT.

Re: Tapestop (using curve and a delay)
well thank goodness we've got that properly sorted out. I for one am quite pleased with the simple, clickless pitch drop patch, thanks! This will be quite handy...
i drop on the lokeymassive
Re: Tapestop (using curve and a delay)
Man....there are so many ways to go with this lol.....
But I'll be good.
Somebody did make the tapestop effect he was looking for. Its called Augustus Loop.
Cheers.

Re: Tapestop (using curve and a delay)
I spoke to cbit, the Pitch Drop author - basically he said the design of Pitch Drop is not suitable for adding tape start- and stop, as it's only based on a delay unit, set to 'repitch'.. There doesn't seem to be a way to coax a tape _start_ effect from this arrangement as far as he could tell.. maybe some of you experts know how though?

Dude please, whats with the wannabe yoda flex.
Tapestop IS free. And has been around for years, and i'm not so young unfortunately. There is no way to get this effect on a mac yet afaik. Yes, we can all chop up some audio and throw it in the sampler and add some pitchbend. But that is not the same as freely tapping stop/start (with independent speed control) on any audio stream is it?

Re: Tapestop (using curve and a delay)
you idiots cant handle the truth. Typical ableton fanboy behaviour. Can you read wackboy? I responded to your utterly useless point about clip editing..
why don't you help the guy above who wants to know exactly how to get the tape start going?
You can't right?

Re: Tapestop (using curve and a delay)
Dunno, you should ask a Max coder who happens to be uninspired enough to need it on everything they produce (i.e. the only logical explanation for a person to change operating systems for a single effect).dna598 wrote:so, how's tapestop on the mac coming along?
On second thought you might just be better off going back to Windows. I hear Windows 7 x64 is pretty rock solid these days…
