Re: ABLETON....Where did the name come from?
My drumming teacher is German and he told me it was named like this - ABLE (As in the ability) TON (The german word for tone) = The ability to make tone.

Re: SL MK II keyboard
wasn't there a 49 of the first series? if this is continued, I would say yes to 49 keys. gives you a decent range of 4 octaves, but not too big, too. I use a 49 keys keyboard all the time and don't feel (too) limited. maybe in the bass region for playing pianos, but that's not such a big problem ...

Re: SL MK II keyboard
What about it 'feels' cheaper? How can you tell how cheap something is by the feel of it? Most of the time what we "feel" and "think" are just abstractions from a reality that is much different then we can interpret. This is where quantifiable objective facts come into play...

Re: Equipment for a live setup
It seems like most people point to the Novation series mainly for the auto mapping.

Re: SL MK II keyboard
I understand and I agree with you. I just don't have access to a store to try them both side by side right now. I am just as guilty as giving opinions as the next person but whenever possible I try to stick to facts and verifiable information rather than ambiguous terminology and appreciate when ...

Re: Equipment for a live setup
Got the monitors the other day. I also got an Audix I5 dynamic mic and a CAD M179 Condenser mic. I just ordered a Mackie 1220 Onyx with Firewire for my interface.
I still cant figure out what keyboard controller to get.

Re: SL MK II keyboard
Everyone keeps saying "feels" and "looks" cheaper. Does anyone have anything to prove why the MKI is better?

Re: Equipment for a live setup
Thanks Tone Deft. Ill check this out.
I was thinking about getting the Echo AudioFire 4 or even better the Echo Indigo IOx express card since my Macbook has an express card slot. Any thoughts or experience with either of these?
Any recommendations?
