In another forum I read (not my own experience), that the MKII's are not fully supported by Live yet. I would buy a MKI instead too, as they are on sale at the moment and you'll get them cheaper than ever.

When you guys say MK1 are you talking about the Novation ReMOTE SL 61?

I have no keyboard yet and im looking for something that could interface nicely with Reason, Ableton and maybe Logic.

Would this be a good choice?

Yes if you want to play it as an instrument, it has an excellent (Fatar) keyboard. Less clear if you want to mainly use it as a controller. Although it works well for me with all the DAWs you mention, and my plugins, there are probably cheaper/better options for 'controllerists'.

I don't know, how the Remotes integrate in Cubase, Reason aso (as I don't use those apps) but in Live 8 you don't need Automap, because they are supported directly through Ableton. For the internal instruments & fx there are mappings done by Ableton and in Live 8 you are able to define, what parameters you want to control on which page of the Remote by using the new configure-feature.

As I use the ZeroSL MKI, I can't give recommandations for the keyboard-versions, as I don't know how the keys feeling is.

But for functionality of Remote in combination with Live 8 my thumbs are up ;-)

Get MK1, i own one and i was thinking about getting one MKII as well, and the only thing better is the touch sensitive and the drums pads, everything else feels cheaper than the MK1. And you can get the MK1 a lot cheaper now since the mkII was announced.

Everyone keeps saying "feels" and "looks" cheaper. Does anyone have anything to prove why the MKI is better?

DASH the best thing you have to do is try both novation controllers on a shop and see for your self, if you are asking people to give their opinions you should accept them. If you are so reluctant in accepting them try it out and see for you self. :) no one better than you to give an honest opinion.

Take care ;)

I understand and I agree with you. I just don't have access to a store to try them both side by side right now. I am just as guilty as giving opinions as the next person but whenever possible I try to stick to facts and verifiable information rather than ambiguous terminology and appreciate when others do the same :).
