yea, i've had a Hammerfall Cardbus and the Echo Indigo both installed on this system. I literally went down to CoreAudio/Built-in only to try and narrow out the possibilities of those cards causing issues. apparently not the case...

yea, doh! forgot to my system specs down:

-1GHz Powerbook
-512MB RAM
-40GB Drive (plenty of space)
-OSX bootable only (meaning it has the latest system ROM from Apple that only allows OSX booting)

-the problem only happens if I leave the system alone. in other words, If I don't touch a thing. so one might say, "yes, you have some type of powermanagement issue going on that is affecting Live". but I assure you all of that is turned off. nothing goes to ...

Im putting together a live set and so far I only have 1-2 audio files on a single track. if I leave the system to loop the audio for about 10-15 minutes on it's own, Live eventually locks up the entire system.

here's the details:

-OS 10.2.6
-Live 2.1.1
-Using CoreAudio (built-in ...

I got an early copy of the unit during NAMM (I work for NI), and I used it during a live show here in LA with Live. it worked beautiful. quite possibly the best controller to match the functionality of Live.

8 faders for the 8 tracks I used

I don't see this problem in any other VST host that supports the VST 2.0 standard (Cubase, Nuendo, Logic, etc.)

And if my memory serves me right, I don't recall this being a problem in v1.52 of Live. But I'll have to reload v1.52 to ...

also note:

you can no longer load the song you saved. the only way to recover the song file is to:

1. remove the spektral delay plugin from your Live VST plugin folder

2. delete the "Ableton" folder in the preferences directory

only then can you launch Live and load your song. it will generate ...

1. launch Live

2. load 1 instance of spektral delay vst into an audio track insert

3. save the song

4. quit Live

5. relaunch Live

6. try to load the song you saved.

Live hangs shortly after....never recovering. requiring a complete system reboot. anyone else?

dude...thanks for posting. I was wondering why I was showing less performance with the Hammerfall DSP /multiface. I was ready to just use soundmanager instead, but now I know why.

anyone else exhibiting this problem?

REALLY annoying. impossible to enter in specific values for parameters in VST plugins. if you click on a value to enter it in, the window highlights as if you can type, but Live won't let you type anything in.

I can double click a field and make it highlighted, but the keyboard does not enter in any numbers.
