Blue spinning ring when updating sample references

I'm trying to fix my library and I've found thousands of missing references.

Does anyone else get a spinning blue ring when dragging samples from the Hot Swap Area onto the preset in the Missing Media Files window?

It's taking me around 2-4 minutes to update each reference - at this rate I'll ...

Re: -_RelaxFileManagerSearch doesn't work properly?

I'm getting this behaviour too under live 9.7.1.

Having moved files around recently I currently have 2,100 "missing" referenced files. I had in excess of 32,000 missing files last night so I'm making progress but progress has been slowed to a crawl because of this issue.

I can choose the required ...

Re: Inserting tracks from other live sets not working.

+1 to this.

I can't drag whole tracks OR clips into Live 8 that were produced with Live 7.

Note that my Ableton Tracks / Projects all reside OUTSIDE the Live library (is this significant?)

I don't have the same problem importing from tracks created by Live 8.

PC Laptop users - any recommendations for my new laptop?

Hi guys,

I've just posted to Tom's Hardware to get some help with spec'ing my next PC laptop. I'm posting here to tap in to the knowledge present on this forum and hear comments from an Audio perspective. If anyone else has recently bought a new PC Laptop or is also currently considering their ...

BIG +1 on this.

I gave up on the API project (and went back to making music) when I realised many of the parameters I wanted access to weren't there.

Please consider implementing changes to the API to give us access to the parameters mdk lists.

I've done a bit of testing in this area but I'm not quite sure what you mean on this one either.

You are only using the Audio as a source, so the warping process itself should not be an issue (not that I've heard any kind of pitch shifting of the warped sample).

You say you didn't hear the start ...

Well it's not quite what you guys are asking for,

but if you slice up two drum loops - both with for example 16 slices but on their individual grooves, not on even 1/16ths....

then use the MIDI clip from one to play the drum rack of the other.

There, you're applying the groove to another sample ...

Has anyone else tried the sidechain on the the Auto-Filter yet? Try feeding in your drums as sidechain.

Nice!

Live 7 Slicer - how does it retain the groove?

I've just been experimenting with the the new Live 7 Slicer. I've used Recycle before so it's great to see Ableton implementing this feature.

But I'm confused.

I take my loop - lets say, a live breakbeat with a nice groove. I place a warp marker on every individual drum hit. By warping a loop in ...

+1 for workflow.

I think this gives a very good (not to say timely) view on this subject.

Sometimes, I wonder if the current commercial software model is doomed. The neverending feature treadmill it puts us on almost always results in extinction.

Perhaps we should stop blindly measuring ...

Granted, there are work arounds, though not particularly elegant ones - by scubbing I assume you're referring to clicking on the clips waveform or am I missing a trick here?

I hope this issue is addressed in a future release to the satisfaction of everyone...

I actually find this useful sometimes. (oh dear bring on the flames)

When DJing with Live and I miss the sweet cue point in the playing songs outro. eg: I'm about to bring in a new track and I realise that I should have hit start on the new clip 8 bars earlier, I simply change the start point of ...

Thanks for all the replies, the general consensus is leading me towards converting my MP3s to WAVs.

The CTRL A tip to move all warp markers is a good one - I didn't know you could do that! Thanks. This will save me a lot of time warping (WAVs or MP3s)
