Seen them in Japan but cannot confirm they were for PeeCee, maybe the ones I saw were Mac only?

This should be easy to find on the Net.

Hitachi just released a new Travelstar model, doubling the previous 100 Gig capacity for the largest 7200 RPM high-speed 2.5" drives.

200 Gig // SATA // 7200 rpm // 16 Meg cache 2.5" portable drive.

See one here (in Japanese, but you get the idea)

It can easily be fitted into any case you want in ...

A possible way to start diagnosing the problem...

Alright, I am really concerned about this as I have a very similar setup, and about to embark on a tour where
audio might have to play from one computer for several hours. Here is a suggestion for those fortunate enough
to run on OS-X

You will need a second Mac running OS-X, any old model sitting ...

Best for what?

I mean, there are times I can only seem to be satisfied with a Lexicon 480 L ($8,000 back in the day)

Other times, perfectly happy with the mono Spring reverb in my ARP2600

...or anything in between.

Some old hardware units which have decent reverbs:

-Ibanez SDR-1000
-Yamaha SPX ...

Re: do you use any 3rd party sample management software?

hey everyone. my sound library is getting so massive its unmanageable.
i suggested to ableton that they add a few extra features like being able to tag files in the library with colour coding or other info, but for now i need a solution soon.

i wanted to ask is there anything else out there that ...

Some useful information for you

Microsoft put some severe limitations on the FAT32 formatting tool which is included in Windows XP, namely
that you can only format a partition up to 32 Gigs and that's it.... (they're pushing their own proprietary NTFS
format as another way to 'lock-in' customers, since no other operatins system ...

Re: MacBook + FW Audio + FW HDD, pls suggest

Hi,

I will soon buying an external FW drive after holiday season when prices should be lower. I own a MacBook and FW Audio interface than has a spare FW port that can be used to connect peripherals like HDD.
My concern is about the ability to make all those equipment to work together.

1) What ...

Re: Any news about express cards?

Do you guys think we will see any audio express cards soon?

The market isn't very big for companies like RME to invest resources when they do fine with cross-platform Firewire interfaces such as the Fireface 400 (which work great on both the Mac and PC)...

One suggestion, use the Express Card ...

Just got one, and it feels really cool compared the the MacBook Pros I have tried.
The 2nd-gen laptops feel like pretty solid machines (so far). Just on the account that they don't seem to suffer from the random shutdown, I'd go with that and sell the old one...

ON STAGE :: Big bar number counter / display :: Possible?

Would love to hear what some of you do for solving the following problem:

I have one computer running Live as the master for everything, and with several musicians they all want to be able to see bar numbers go by, so that they can plot ahead when their parts are changing.

Right now they cannot do ...

Robert,

I really feel your pain and frustration with the lack of ethics which some people can display.

Yet (being more or less in exactly in the same boat) I must say that we all may be coming to the same realization. The record business isn't what it used to be. People, however, haven't changed ...

But I also can't stand people judging me and lumping me, and every other dj, into that mix. And maybe you weren't, but with some of the blanket statements you made earlier it certainly seems that way. Instead of making the "mixing monkey" statements and such maybe you should just try explaining ...
