I know that I can do this to a certain degree with clips. Ive heard I can do it with External Instrument but I don't understand how this works? All I want to do is to be able to assign midi controls to manipulate knobs on my Reason devices, like I can with any VST synth in Live. Is this doable?

I want to send the signal of one of my tracks out to my drummer's headphones, along with the metronome click that I have assigned to the cue's outputs. Can I do this? It would be helpful if he could have an element such as the bass audio going to his phones.

hmmm, good thinking. But unfortunately, no, Live does not recognize the Spidf out as being a useable out. thanks for the suggestion though.

I am looking at maybe purchasing a Presonus Firebox. Looks fairly inexpensive and with enough outputs to do the job. I will try your suggestion as well, first. Thanks for replying!

Can I automate synth, effect parameters within clips? In other words have a synth or VST effect knob tweak the way I want it to each time I trigger a specific clip? Obviously you can do this with the sequencer in arrangement mode, but it would be cool to know how to do with each individual clip.
