triggering clips with Trigger Finger

Post by mikadams » Sun Sep 07, 2008 2:31 pm

I'm about ready to break my TF! I had a piece in Ableton that used individual clips, each assigned to a pad on the TF. My TF was set to have P01 to call up the patch. Now when I go into Ableton and load the piece, and select midi, the pad and knob selections are all the same, but the pads on my TF no longer trigger the clips. It looks like Live is still receiving midi from the TF, but not specified to the proper clips, parameters. Ive tried using Enigma to set up my TF, but it is most definitely appropriately named...HELP!!!

how did you set up the pads in the first place?
When you program the TF with enigma and send the patch to the TF you have to change banks
on the TF to use the new settings or else it doesn't use the new settings.

The easiest way for me to use enigma is in the list view.
Then you can see all assigned parameters for the bank.

write down the assignments to the clips in midi map mode and compare them to your TF settings in Enigma.
You should be able to see where it goes wrong.

good luck.

I have no trouble using TF to play the Impulse drum machine, or use it to play Reason Redrum, or even trigger synth notes. But what I specifically want to use it for is to trigger idividual clips, samples. While in the past, I have been able to just open the flie, and choose ban P01, and have all my samples properly routed to each pad, suddenly, that is no longer the case. If anyone has any links for "dummy" TF tutorials using Live, that would be great. because this is something I really want to do for performance, and it would be nice to have easy recall of the setups Ive made. thanks again.
