If it is the variable velocity thing, it might explain why we are all getting different results. I am sending the MIDI note via Midi-Ox and I have forced it to 100 (yeah, not 127. Should not matter). I am sending MIDI notes via my QWERTY keyboard using a Windows utility caled Virtual MIDI ...

I contacted support about his and they say it's not a bug but a feature request. A fine but valid distinction I suppose - it is currently not possible to observe gloabal excluse arm settings in M4L.
That's a copout. If you look atound the forums you will see this "feature" is already implemented ...

If you see it happening again, immediately go to the help menu and select "Get Support".
This creates a status report which Ableton can use to verify and reproduce this bug.

Weird, must be a windows issue.
When Arm Exclusive is enabled, you shouldn't even be able to arm multiple tracks without control-clicking the Arm buttons. Every time I Arm a track using a Key, it will be the only armed track.
If you hit 2 keys at the same time, 2 tracks are armed.

Thanks. Good advice but Note-on & Note-off is not an issue in my situation. Anyhow luckily it works with my current midi-ox/yoke topography. Perhaps someone else can give clues if it does not work for them (or maybe I will try to reproduce it again).

Still not working... three years later in v8.2.1. I initially suspected it only happens on Windows installations but seems to be Mac too.

I have this problem in XP also. If sending the MIDI remote control message via MIDI Yoke there are some topologies that work and others that experience this bug (there seems to be no pattern though).

Everytime I slice a loop to Midi the notes/slices all fade out or tail off towards the end while they're playing. The loop itself plays fine before slicing it. The note will fade out even if I slice it as a single bar.

It is possibly because you are playing back the track at a tempo other than te ...

Good question. As it stands, slicing is not a tool that is practical to be used live.

Is there something like this implemented in v8 yet?

There is another possible scenario.
In routing section of arrangement view
you may have your track input set to In
because (for example) you may have just recorded from an external source.

To play it back select Auto .
This will make it audible and "un-ghost" the appearance of it.
