Ableton Live for Theatre Playback (How I Do Stuff: Episode 1)
I'm starting a semi regular video series, with a focus on using Ableton Live as the primary playback mechanism for live theatre. I'll be covering methods I've been using for the past 15 years or so, fighting the good fight against QLAB dominance in the industry. Here's my first episode. Enjoy! https...

Re: Unlinked Envelopes in Legato Mode???
Upon reflection, I'm convinced this should be considered a bug. Or at least overlooked.
Mike Verdone, can fix this?

Unlinked Envelopes in Legato Mode???
I'm stating an obvious here (I think)... But WHY are Unlinked-Envelopes in a Legato-Enabled Clip actually launching in Legato? This makes no sense to me. Am I missing something? Shouldn't an Unlinked-Envelopes timeline be independent of the Legato Launch and launch from the start flag regardless? Or...

Re: Problems with Midi Mapped Automation in Arrangement
Hey!
No jitter at all. It even happens when I've unplugged the controller and restarted Live without the controller ever being present.

Problems with Midi Mapped Automation in Arrangement
I'm having a huge problem with the new automation scheme. I've midi mapped (from my external midi controller) to a parameter of a midi effect (in this case 'length' of the "note length" midi effect) and recorded it in an automation lane. When I go to play it back the automation always becomes disabl...

Re: designing soundsystem for medium sized outdoor even.
If you have a hard wall behind the stage (concrete) then it would be best to place the subs at center stage, FACING the wall about 10" away from it. I've seen many beginners/non-professionals do this! Why?! It might make sense in particular circumstances, but to use this technique whenever you find...

Re: Kapture - smooth transitions
here here! Not just a Global time, but definable times set per preset.
While we're on the topic, how the hell is this NOT part of Ableton natively? THIS should be built in right up top with the transport. I for one am getting tired of having to come up with 'work arounds' all the time.

Re: My First Melodyne D.N.A. Project
I did this the first morning the Beta of DNA was available. I'm a little more educated in how to operate it now (believe me, polyphonic melodyne is nothing like monophonic). It wasn't as easy as it might look. The clip was taken from an mp3 at 128k (strike one) which was probably the worst source. E...

Re: clicks and pops with motu symphonic
did you manage to find a solution for this at all? I'm running MSI on Live 8 on a MacPro 8-Core and the popping/clicking is killing me. I'm all out of answers for fixes.
