Re: library missing
nevermind guys, i got it, for anyone that might come across this problem - you need to go to the license and tell it to basically "run" a demo every time you start up a new version, if that's not selected then ableton won't let you use the instruments you want to try

library missing

First time i installed it it worked fine, then i added a vst and the synth library is gone, now - when i go to preferences/library, the synths are still there but when they don't show up ...

quick warping question
most of the time when I warp ableton will warp tracks fine, but I got 2 issues that I noticed sometimes happen:
1 - sometimes it won't recognize the track properly and it'll start it on a wrong measure
2 - it'll put a load of markers in a the track, and then when it plays it'll slow it down like ...

Re: some stupid error
The only way is to open with the new version... The thing about updates with Live is that every install is its own independent program, which means the older versions are still there and are independent of each other as well.
This just means you have to be sure you are opening the latest, and ...

Re: some stupid error
Okay, stupid question, but did you create that set on a newer version?
Second question... Have you tried dragging individual midi tracks to a new set?
^^Sometimes this is the easiest fix for when "weird errors" occur. I have had several issues in the past where I'd have a single corrupted track ...

some stupid error
So I tried loading up my set and got this error. It said "Apparently the document was created by a more recent and compatible version of live than this.
Document is from a newer version. Too many translators"
I have a lot of midi work done on that file I REALLY do not want to be redoing everything ...

Re: Still Latency
I got it guys, it was the Remote button that was on on the OUTPUTS of each device inside preferences that was causing the problem, btw doing the update didn't work.
The reason for the hiccup/glitch is if you have the OUTPUT Remote turned on the midi data is being originally sent into ableton to ...

Re: Still Latency
btw downloaded the latest version of live, 8.0.4 last night, but couldn't bother to work on it anymore after 3 hours of sleep sunday night, and knowing that I'm only gonna get 3 and a half hours last night, will try it tonight when I get out of work. Hopefully it'll help, somewhat at least.

Re: Still Latency
asio4all might help.
have you run the DPC latency checker yet ? What scores are you running ???
Like I said before, various device drivers, including your DVD player driver, graphics driver, ethernet, whatever drivers, even if you don't use wifi, have you disabled the driver, etc.
Failing this ...

Re: Still Latency
I don't have a webcam or anything else running on this laptop. I am however feeding the audio through the midi itself HOWEVER I still get the hiccup from nanoKontrol so I highly doubt that that's the problem. I don't have that laptop hooked up to internet simply 'cause I want to avoid any risks of ...

Re: Still Latency
My specs are windows vista, 64bit, 4gigs of RAM, SP1. Running it with M-Audo Ozone midi and nanoKontrol but no matter which one I use, be it keys on the Ozone, buttons on nano or arrow keys the cpu still goes sky rocketing for a split second causing the audio to stop for a split second
