BeatCamp London - Music Production Event - 17th May

http://thisisbeatcamp.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/BeatCamp_Flyer.jpg Do you love music production but find working in your home studio a solitary experience? Have you ever spent hours fiddling with a track or a loop wishing you had someone to bounce ideas off? Would you like to finish a track in...

Midi sync truncates notes...

Im running 8.2.8 on lion and have Ableton sync'c to Traktor. When EXT is enabled I cant play notes in Live - drum rack plays blips/impulses rather than the full sample. Everything works greta when EXT sync is off :/ Ive seen another post for this for soemone using 8.2.5 but there's no answer on it -...

Modulate parameters of effect on group channel ?

I have a filter on a group channel and I want the cutoff to change when I trigger different scenes...

The only way I can figure out to do this is to route the group to another channel and use a dummy clip. This works but its pretty clunk - is there a neater way to do this using the group channel ?

Re: Do you sell your music?

Interesting article in Future Music this month with Carl Cox. He's releasing an album on some kind of USB stick which sounds a bit an e-licencer. He suggests you cant write to the stick but somehow it syncs and downloads content. I think it has videos of him / tutorials and other content and the alb...

Re: To Maschine Or Not To Maschine

Finally sold a load of stuff gathering dust and opted for the full-fat maschine. Definitely a bit of a learning curve and setting it all up was a bitch but first impressions of getting hands on with it are really good - its a lot of fun. One thing I like is that you really start using your ears more...

Re: Anyone uses a Traktor S4?

Im using an S4 .... I sold my Ediroal FA-101 (never really used the 10ins/outs) and now use the S4 as my main audio interface. Seems to work fine - no complaints, no noticeable diff in audio quality from the FA-101 (cant say Ive done side-by-side) I would think there would be a way to route ableton ...

Re: MASCHINE MIKRO!!!!!!

Reading around it seems like the Mikro is missing 'auto write' so you cant record automation. This seems crazy - why bother having even the one knob ? :S

Hmm that wasn't quite the kind of portability I was thinking off ;) could you stick it in a backpack with a laptop ?

Re: MASCHINE MIKRO!!!!!!

So Ive been seriously toying up between a big fat Maschine and the Mikro - suprised to see such a hands down to the Mikro. I thought the price difference was a win and more portable factor would be cool but pretty concerned that the lack of knobs would mean you could twiddle less stuff. There seems ...

M4L to TouchOSC receives but wont change controls

Ive got TouchOSC running on an ad-hoc wifi network and I can receive in my max patch just fine. I have a grid control and when I hit it I get messages in my patch like so : print: /1/grid/3/9 1. Problem is when I send back to the iPad (using message boxes and udpsend) I can see a little indicator in...

Terrible Stability !?!

Upgraded to M4L at the weekend... its brilliant having such control in ableton but I havent had a single use where it hasnt crashed on me yet. I've probably had 10-20 crashed in 2 days :( Is this just me or is this seriously unstable ?? I was originally running some of the monomeemu stuff which I th...
