I guess so. I don't know the technical side of Live's workings. For now I'm just going to stick with dragging on 'loop' at a time into the time loop locators and render. It is a bit lengthy but works like a charm.

Hopefully Ableton will take a clue from all the other people with the 'render to disk ...

I'm having some problems solo'ing tracks. I have my song open in Live and then I select the track I want to render then press the [S] to solo it - which works fine. But when I press play to make sure its solo'd, Live stutters the audio and goes into cpu overload.

I use the M-Audio O2 midi-controller and find it very adequate for the job. Althought I wish I had waited on getting the O2 because the M-Audio Ozonic (firewire audio/midi) synth/midi-controller is helluva better!

Render non-essential MIDI tracks to audio for your live shows (saving as a new filename of course). And only the ones you will be manipulating hands-on, keep as MIDI.
