Re: MFL $299 USD
Messaged Ableton regarding student discounts on Max for Live.
Thanks for your interest in Max for Live.
Ableton is proud to support students and teachers by offering educational discounts on full-featured, upgradeable versions of Live.
These discounts however, do not extend to Max for Live.

Re: MFL $299 USD
Anyone know if there'll be an educational discount? The edu prices haven't been updated yet...
crap.
i have suite 8 edu and max/msp/jitter 5 edu and the edu price (79) is the same as for non edus ?
thats not right.
40-50 would be acceptable
and on top of that what about not-current max user ...

I figure instead of using a new thread since no one has posted to this one, I might as well post the song I just posted on soundcloud as well.

Friendly Strangers First Live Set (dubstep/glitch/hiphop)
Yo haven't posted shit in a while, but I've been using Live for a couple years. I hope you all can appreciate and enjoy the live set I did as Friendly Strangers with my brother. We played with Live 8 completely improvised and almost all originals safe for a few tracks and acapellas thrown around ...

Re: Drum Racks Vs. Impulse
i find impulse color sounds in ways i dislike. when i've got a hard kick played with the snare, the snare tends to duck under the kick, and this doesn't really happen as noticeably in drum rack. also the ability to seperate tracks is useful.

Re: Saving a VST with parameters ? There's a solution but ...
i usually save presets i really like. if they're instrument racks, you can just group the whole rack and save it into the the instrument rack folder (there's a 'save' floppy disk icon on all racks, instrument, drum, effect..)

Re: EVNTHRIZN - Every Number a Color (Dub/IDM...i guess?)
well really that whole render was an improvisation, so yeah that explains the length. thank you for the input, i always like hearing input about levels, because the speakers i'm monitoring on are less than desirable haha.
also thank you for listening of course!

Re: Saving a VST with parameters ? There's a solution but ...
if it's saved in another live set, just go to the browser while your in a new live set (the one you want to reuse the VST sound in), and find that original live set. there's a pull-down menu next to all live sets that allows you to pull in the instrument (i.e. MIDI or audio) tracks from that live ...
