i'm increasing frequently finding myself in a situation where i've frozen a device, and i can no longer edit it because
1) it crashes max when i try to open the device and
2) the .amxd file isn't editable in a text editor

i open a session with lots of max devices that are idle (i.e. they have metro's inside them that are NOT on).

it appears that this crash was due to a bad vst plug-in.
strange that it happens after the vst plug-in scan of of the live startup....

as of today, i can no longer start-up live, it crashes during the startup while "creating new set..."
i've tried reinstalling live, removing preferences, removing the library, ...

anyone have any advice on this one?
