increasing/out-of-control CPU usage and slow-down

hello,
ever since installing the latest beta, i am seeing a strange development very frequently.
i open a session with lots of max devices that are idle (i.e. they have metro's inside them that are NOT on).
after working with the session a bit (just moving plugins around, changing routings...), the CPU meter in live starts to climb up and up. it reaches 100 eventually, and goes beyond. 200, 300, and eventually into the hundreds of thousands (i have screen-shots of this). my computer (macbook pro. 10.5. slows down further and further, becomes unresponsive.

i'm forced to force quit and start over. this happens many many times a day.

anyone else seeing this?

Nope. If you could provide a device, a live set, and some info about your platform that would definitely help.
