Browser search, search info text as well
It would be incredibly useful if Ableton searched the info text of my devices when I search the browser with Cmd + F. For example, if I have organized my audio effect racks (and plugins etc) so that in the infotext i have longer description (For example, "pultec analog modeled eq", I should be able ...

Save browser state with Live set (sort by rank!)
I want to be able to ALWAYS sort search results by rank.
This setting in the browser saves when you close the live set from the file menu, but if you close the application and reopen it, Live automatically goes back to sorting by name.

Re: Question regarding osx keyboard shortcuts
also there is no keyboard shortcut on osx to move midi notes off the grid (when grid is enabled), a very useful shortcut on windows. Strange that this is the case since Mac's have an extra key on the keyboard! (control+command+option, whereas pcs only have contrl+alt). There is no way to get around ...

Re: Question regarding osx keyboard shortcuts
Thanks. So I am right that there are some keyboard shortcuts that simply don't exist on Macs? The two I used all the time on my PC that I'm referring to are:
1. shift + alt + arrows, to reduce/extend the duration of selected notes off the grid.
2. holding control and clicking on a clip to move the ...

Question regarding osx keyboard shortcuts
Hi, I'm used to using Live to edit midi on my PC and have started using a Mac. On my PC, I can edit midi really quickly using the keyboard shortcuts. One specifically that I use all the time, is holding alt+shift to change the length of notes I have selected off the grid. I would assume on macs this ...

Re: Adding audio effects that are off
yeah, the on off status is always on before the effect when you add it in arrangemen, even if the effect is saved as off

Adding audio effects that are off
I'd love a way to add an effect that is Off while recording, so the whole time before that effect is added the effect is automated as off, and therefore not mess up what was going on beforehand. Right now if you add an effect that is off while recording, the effect is automatically turns on before ...

Re: problem automating device on/off
I've tried this on a couple of different computers so I think Ableton does in fact do this automatically. My problem is when I add an effect to a track that is saved to be off in my library, BEFORE the point in time I add the effect in my project (in the arrangement view), the effect is on, not off ...

Re: problem automating device on/off
Hmm... the lock setting doesn't seem to change it? If I add an effect that is off while recording, the effect's on off automation before I add the effect is still on? Should this not be the case?

problem automating device on/off
Sorry if this is posted elsewhere but I couldn't find it.
When using Live sometimes I add new effects while the recording is going on, unfortunately this creates problems as on the track the new effect is added to all the time before it so the effect is on.

Re: Live.button does not work with key map?
Thanks... This was one of the first max patches I made so it was pretty sloppy, thanks for the help!
The other problem was that clicking the button and using the keyboard (with the intention of a "momentary" controller) would produce different results as the keyboard acts as a toggle.
I found a way ...

Re: How do you set a parameter's default value?
Ahh.. I see how it works now, I was getting confused because my macros were defaulting to different values, but I discovered the trick that will save me!: to always default to the min value (instead of the controlled parameter's default value) just set to "show generic value"

How do you set a parameter's default value?
Does anyone know a way to set the "default value" of a parameter (for example, knobs of a rack) so when I select it and hit delete (or right click - return to default) it returns to a custom value I specify?
