You might not be able to route ouputs in 4. I deep sixed my version when I got 5, and to boot I nevre used multi outs on 4 cos I thought it couldnt be done. I may of been wrong. I only found how to do it in 5 from this forum

Heres how I make edirol work.

I set aside 4 audio tracks for mixing groups. (max edirol allows.

1 midi track for edirol. NO PATTERNS ON THIS TRACK AS IT'LL BLOCK OTHER INPUTS

Then multiple midi tracks, one per instrument.

All the audiotrack INPUTS point to edirol, with the subchannel thingo ...

I think the Abes said a while ago that to give VST and VSTi functionality as a ReWire slave would require a quite serious rewrite of the audio engine. But they _do_ know its desirable...

Surely they are routing to rewire after the audio processing? I mean you can still use the internal plugins ...

I'd really like to be able to rewire my Ableton Tunes into ProTools so I can do my composition on Ableton while using my DAW for more heavy lifting mixing.

The problem is, when Ableton goes into rewire mode, its ability to use VST's seems to vanish, which renders much of Abelton useless.
